The mystery of God’s love

‘Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: …’ (1 John 3:1 KJV)

A Saviour was commissioned by heaven to die for offenses that He did not commit. I committed offenses, He took the punishment. Amazing twist of events!

Heaven’s way is different from men’s way. Our law justifies punishing a man for the offenses that he committed. Heaven sanctioned that Jesus should die for the offences that man commited. That is heaven’s way. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: … (1 Timothy 3:16 KJV). For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6 KJV). The godly died for the ungodly. The just died for the unjust. The best died for the worst. The good died for the bad. Divinity died for humanity. God died for man! What a mystery! Hard to understand. But true.

Don’t despise this great sacrifice. Don’t jettison this great love. In this season of special love, you should plug yourself into God’s ocean of love. The results of such a wise decision would transcend this life. The decision would quicken you to live effectively on earth and to make it to heaven eventually, when your life on earth is over.

If that describes what you want, it is time to pray. Have you realised your need of a Saviour? Do you want to receive Him today?

1. Ask God to forgive you for all the bad things that you have done – through words, thoughts, and actions. Tell Him that you are sorry for doing those bad things.

2. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and become your Lord and personal Saviour.
