Don’t be a Pilate

Life is filled with decisions. We make choices every day – decisions to live, thrive, grow, and reach our goals. In fact, indecision itself is a decision – a choice that leads to some kind of outcome.

Pilate faced a critical decision. He had to choose between standing for what was right or giving in to the will of the masses who demanded the destruction of an innocent life. Torn between these two paths, he tried to reason with the crowd, urging them to see the value of preserving life. Yet, when they refused to support him, he succumbed to their demands.

Yes, Pilate was under immense pressure, but he still had the power to choose the truth. He could have stood firm and done the right thing, regardless of the consequences – but he didn’t.

Scripture records that Pilate, despite knowing what was right, chose the path of least resistance.

“And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.” (Luke 23:25)

Don’t be a Pilate.

Do you excuse your own weaknesses and failures while ignoring the persistent call of God’s Spirit to fully commit your life to Him? It’s time to make a decisive stand.
