Salvation doesn’t come by mere declarations. There must be a deep transformation within.
The transformation happens when we bow to God’s authority and allow Him to work on our lives.
We begin to surrender to God’s authority at the point of praying the ‘sinner’s prayer’. During this time, realise that we are sinners in need of redemption but we cannot save ourselves and acknowledge that the sacrificial death of Jesus for the atonement of our sins is our only hope. Armed with these realities, we ask for God’s forgiveness of our sins because of Jesus and afterward invite Jesus into our hearts and determine not to go back into our sins anymore.
While we do all these, a transformation takes place within us. Our sins are washed away by the blood that Jesus shed for us when He died to mediate God’s love and mercy to us. We are translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God. We are given the capacity to live right and be obedient to the faith that Jesus died to birth. We become members of God’s family.
Have you been saved? Today is the day to be saved. Don’t hesitate, come to Jesus now.
